The Datacard 130 Embosser is designed for low volume use where data may be input through a built-in keyboard or through a PC computer. The 130 embosses one card at a time which is loaded automatically from a stack of cards in the input hopper on the right side. Completed cards are stacked in the output hopper on the left side. The keyboard is in the "QWERTY" format. Fonts include OCR numeric characters spaced at 7 characters per inch and alphanumeric characters spaced at 10 characters per inch. These look like the characters on traditional credit cards. Color tipping of the embossed characters and/or encoding of a magnetic stripe must be done on separate equipment.
